Change your Wifi Channel

Updated 20 October 2026

Applies to: UNO, DUO and NEO (DNA) gates, which connect over Wi-Fi, and to G4 gates used in the same system as any of them. When a G4 is mixed with older gates, the whole system runs on Wi-Fi and this article applies. A G4-only system connects over SwiftAir and does not need this: see G4 timing system overview.

If you are experiencing erratic behaviors with your timing gate operation, the likely cause is Wi-Fi latency due to congestion on the channel that Syncro has automatically selected.

The latest Appstore version of Syncro has a new dialog for changing wifi channels.
You will see it on the connection page as below. The default, set by Syncro is now channel 11, and if you have recently updated the app, you will now be on channel 11, which may differ from previous selection.

WARNING: Changing wifi channel selection in SYNCRO on one of your iOS devices does not mean this channel will be automatically assigned in another iOS device.

Tapping on the gear icon, (circled), will allow you to select a different channel
If you have a PC with Microsoft Wi-Fi Analyzer installed you can see which channels are in use and also where the Swift network is setup.
