Wifi Dropping out?

Updated 20 October 2026

Applies to: UNO, DUO and NEO (DNA) gates, which connect over Wi-Fi, and to G4 gates used in the same system as any of them. When a G4 is mixed with older gates, the whole system runs on Wi-Fi and this article applies. A G4-only system connects over SwiftAir and does not need this: see G4 timing system overview.

AUTO WiFi Connect Failure

If you see the warning below when trying to connect your timing gates, it is likely that iOS has ranked the Swift Access point Wi-Fi  lower than existing alternate Wi-Fi networks that may be available to your device .

Should you have used another Wi-Fi network, in this same location, and 'auto-join' is enabled, iPad iOS may select this network in preference to Swift Access point Wi-Fi based on a number of parameters like

  • Last network connected
  • Internet availability
  • Signal strength

The solution

Go to iPad Settings/Wi-Fi

Select the Wi-Fi network your iPad is defaulting to tap on the info 'i' button

Deselect "Auto Join"

This action will prevent your iPad connecting to other available networks automatically. Exit by tapping <WIFI
