How do I charge my gates and EzeJump?

Updated 20 October 2026

Applies to: Swift timing gates and EzeJump.

Charging your timing gates

Swift timing gates charge wirelessly. Sit each gate on its charger (or in the charging carry case, if your system has one) and leave it. The charge light on the gate comes on while it charges and goes off when it is full.

A completely flat gate takes 7 to 8 hours to charge, so the simplest routine is to charge overnight before a testing day. A gate that is only part flat takes proportionally less time. For how long a charge lasts, see How long does a gate charge last?

Checking the charge level

  • In SYNCRO: open Settings, then Devices. Each connected gate shows its charge level as a percentage. This is the accurate reading.
  • On the gate: for a quick check, look at the 12 lights along the top of the gate. Each green light is roughly 10% of charge, so a fully charged gate shows 10 of its 12 top lights green.

The charge light stays on when the gate is full

Occasionally a gate's charge light does not go off, even after a full charge. This happens when the charge settles at 99.something per cent instead of exactly 100%, so the gate never registers "full". It is within specification and nothing to worry about: the gate is charged and ready to use. If you want to be sure, check the level in SYNCRO under Settings, then Devices.

If a gate keeps reporting 55%, that is a different issue: see My gate keeps reporting 55% charge. How do I fix it?

Charging your EzeJump

EzeJump charges wirelessly using Qi charging.

  • Plug the supplied charger into the power outlet.
  • Place the charging pad, right side down, on the charging plate marked on the EzeJump.
  • The red charging light turns off when the EzeJump is fully charged.

A completely flat EzeJump takes about 4 hours to charge. EzeJump cannot be charged with a cable, only with the wireless charger. Use the charger supplied by Swift; if you need a replacement, contact Swift support. You can see the EzeJump's charge level in the EzeJump app. For how long a charge lasts, see How long does an EzeJump charge last?
