What are the run options in SYNCRO test designer?

Updated 20 October 2026

Applies to: SYNCRO test designer, with any Swift timing gates.

When you design a test in SYNCRO, the run option sets how the gates behave once the test starts. Options shown in grey are not available in your version of SYNCRO yet.

Normal

The athlete runs once through the path set in the test design. The test is complete when the last gate in the test is triggered.

Repeat

Lets you set rest periods or delays between repeated sprints, for example for a repeated sprint or sprint fatigue test.

Freestyle

Arms every gate at once. After the start, all gates show a green light and can be triggered in any order, as many or as few times as you like. Useful when you add an outside cue, such as a coach calling out which gate to run to.

Agility

Sends the athlete to a randomly chosen gate. For example, set 4 gates in a 5 x 5 m box with the athlete in the middle: they run to whichever gate lights up, for a set number of splits.

Speed Sprint

Arms all gates at the start of the test instead of one after another. Recommended for straight-line tests, especially fast runs with gates set close together, to avoid missed splits. More detail: What is the Speed Sprint option? What are the benefits?
